Pascal Campion...amazing!

If you haven't seen Pascal Campion's work, you're really missing out.
He's not fancy, he doesn't use a lot of bells and whistles...but his simple illustrations get more feeling across than most of the fancy stuff I see on a regular basis.
He's especially good at capturing beautiful moments, and he always uses awesome lighting.
Either way, he's AMAZING! Check him out here.

And HERE are a few sample's of Campion's work, just to give you a feel for his genius-ness:

101 Dalmatians Style Painting

I was having some trouble figuring out how to take this fussy, line-heavy layout and color it to retain the look of the 101 Dalmatians bg's. Will looked at my first tonal and pointed out that I was trying to render with tone--to turn the forms with light and shadow. If you actually look at the Dalmatians layouts, the coloring is very loose and isn't about rendering at all. In what he calls a "line-driven style", Will says that if you take out the line anywhere, the layout should fall apart.

So as I was coloring I kept turning off the line layer just to make sure it was falling apart when I did...
Here's the final piece, pre-tweaking if there's going to be any:

Here are a couple examples of the Dalmatians BG style:
